In choosing the best house plans, location is of utmost consideration.  The neighborhood of any house will have an impact on the future resale value of a house.  Therefore, before you decide on the types of floor plan for your dream home, it is important that you have already made a decision on where your house should be constructed and figure out if this is the most appropriate location that protects the future value of your investment in house construction.

To define a good neighbourhood further, it is ideal to have your house in areas which are close to school, work, church, shopping areas, restaurants, recreation, and other places that you need to visit often.  This will make your life style low-maintenance as too long travel time would not only be costly but will also be stressful in the long run.  In addition, you need to take a closer look at the style and sizes of the homes in the neighborhood, as this will dictate the costs that you will have to spend too.

Making decisions on house plans is not your first step in building your home.  Choosing the right location is always king in making the best decisions regarding your investment for your dream home.  The condition of the landscaping and lawns in an area, including the neighborhood signs, sidewalks, streets, and overall condition of the community areas will also need to be considered.

The overall state or condition of the neighborhood will your house will be built dictates how your property will be valued in the long run.  It will also indicate whether or not you should spend more or less for a specific property in that location.  Having excellent house plans which will be built in areas with poor conditions might be a bad investment for any property owner.
